League of Legends: Wild Rift, Riot Games' highly anticipated mobile and console adaptation of their iconic MOBA, approached our agency with a unique challenge.
They sought to launch a new season pass globally, well before the associated game content was fully produced. Our task was to create excitement and anticipation among players by crafting a teaser trailer and a social media campaign that brought to life tantalizing snippets of the upcoming storyline.
Challenges in the process
Creating marketing materials for content still in pre-production presented a unique challenge: engaging players without revealing too much. The campaign aimed for global appeal, resonating with diverse audiences while fostering excitement across cultures. However, teasing a storyline without divulging crucial plot details posed a delicate balancing act, requiring a fine line between intrigue and discretion.
